Non-Government Organization's Role In Basic Education Of China

Basic education is the foundation to the citizen, it belongs to the field of pure public affairs and should provide equitable educational resources and conditions as much as possible by government. However, China's vast territory, imbalance political & economic development , and the Government's limited finance, all decide that it is difficult to meet the needs of all parts of the country, particularly in backward areas. And enterprises' essence for profit, also determines the very limited funds which can be used in public affairs. Non-profit organizations are the third section different from the government and enterprises, NGO have five special characters: formal organization, nongovernmental, nonprofit-distributing, self-governing, and voluntary. These features can help non-profit organization to mobilize a wide range of social resources much better, to obtain people's trust, to provide assistance to basic education. The contribution, made in basic education field by Non-profit organizations, made effective promotion in basic education field, particularly in disadvantaged areas.However, non-profit organization in China start late, and lack of management experience, coupled with the occurrence of individual adverse events, to some extent, reflect that credibility of non-profit organizations in basic education field is missing, the lack of professionals, management confusion.
