Survey And Research Of College Students' Expectation Of Employment

College students' employment is one of the hot issues with the development of society and politics, the improvements of people's educational levels, and the changes in economy as well as in science and technology. Employment expectation is an individual's aspiration and yearn towards a certain profession, also an attitude and belief that he/she wants to be occupied in a certain career. It is an external expression of one's employment values, as well as an internal force determining one's employment selection. Not only does it have a direct influence on one's choice towards career, it also affects one's whole life. Employment expectation value is a standard composed by payment, working place, promise of development, training opportunities and other factors, which is used to measure college students' expectation of employment. Constructing a measuring index system of students' employment expectation value has great significance not only for students adjusting their expectation of employment, but also for solving problems caused by difficulties in getting employment as well as setting up a reasonable sense of employment. Whether an individual's employment expectation can come into reality depends not only on personal qualities or social demands, but also on one's expectation of employment. Therefore, a scientific and reasonable employment expectation is a key problem related to the smooth realization of college students' targets of employment.This article researches on college students' expectation of employment and points out that employment expectation value is a main factor of measuring expectation of employment, also determines corresponding ratio according to the importance that students attach to it, and then comes out with specific numbers of employment expectation using methods of mathematical models. Based on the analysis of data from questionnaires of graduates in Dalian University of Technology of year 2009 about their employment, this article constructs a measuring index system of college students' employment expectation, quantifies college students' expectation of employment and presents it in the form of numerical values, also determines the average value of employment expectation of graduates in the year 2009 of Dalian University of Technology. The article also examines the reliability and the efficiency of the average value. Students may adjust their employment expectation to the average value, which is of guiding significance for correcting students' attitudes toward employment. The last part of the article describes the factors that influence college students' employment expectations through analyzing the academic backgrounds, economical situations, family environment and employment policy.
