The Research On Using WebQuest In Elective Course Teaching In Senior High School

WebQuest is a novel learning method, a kind of studying basing on Internet basing on constructivism, and it is also a research-based learning is characterized by information technology and curriculum integration model. With students being the central role and under the teacher's guidance step, WebQuest fully used resources on Internet, accomplish certain learning task and enhance students'ability to learning new knowledge and to solve problems. At present, many teachers around the world have been using this method to establish their own web pages WebQuest Course, and widely used in the classroom practice.A notable feature of the new high school curriculum reform is the opening of elective courses, elective courses showing the characteristics of modularity, which coincides with the WebQuest teaching model, WebQuest teaching model at the same time can promote the Information Technology and Curriculum Integration.Implementation of elective subject of senior high school is now facing some problems. It is very necessary for teachers in China to use WebQuest in elective subject teaching. In the article, it discussed using WebQuest in the elective subject of senior high school and the theory foundation of using WebQuest in elective subject teaching; designed an idiographic WebQuest case on combining new courses; analyzed the positive and negative affections of using WebQuest in elective subject teaching, and gave suggestions.Basing the designing and analyzing of the WebQuest example, it is proved that using WebQuest in elective subject teaching could improve students'learning style, changing it to independent, cooperative and inquiry learning.It also could improve teacher's professional capability.
