The Current Situation Research And Strategies For The Hosting Of University For The Aged By Institutions Of Higher Education

University for the Aged in China is an important form to carry out the Aged Education. Since the first University of the Third Age was born in France in1973, the world has been exploring the theory and practice related to the Aged Education. As a result of national conditions and socio-economic foundations, cultural awareness and other aspects of the differences, the Aged Education is different and unique. However, it is the same that the widespread participation of Institutions of Higher Education in the countries of the Aged Education. Just the method of participation and the role are different. Among them, the hosting of University for the Aged is a unique form in China's Institutions of Higher Education to carry out the Aged Education. This study is to explore from"the hosting of University for the Aged by Institutions of Higher Education". Hoping that through a survey to the overall situation of nine universities of the Aged hosted by Institutions of Higher Education in Shanghai, especially Shanghai Normal University, we can identify the existing problems and difficulties, exploring the problems rationally, thereby improving the operating mechanism of university of the Aged. This is not only the needs of development of China's Aged Education, but also the needs of social service functions of Institutions of Higher Education in the new century and new situation. In this paper, the main contents of the chapters are as follows:Chapter I: Introduction. Explain the reasons, background and significance for study, illuminate the definition of related concepts, as well as the related searches of the Aged Education hosted by Institutions of Higher Education, and introduce the research methods.Chapter II: the Aged Education and Institutions of Higher Education. On the one hand, describe the Aged Education of the United States, Britain and Japan, which have different forms of the Aged Education in the Institutions of Higher Education in different countries; On the other hand, on the basis of China's Aged Education, summarize the practical experiences of the Aged Education in Shanghai, especially, the hosting of university of the Aged by Institutions of Higher Education is a unique form of the Aged Education in Shanghai.Chapter III: The analysis of current status to the hosting of university of the Aged by Institutions of Higher Education. Based on survey data, generally analyze the whole condition of nine universities of the Aged hosted by Institutions of Higher Education in Shanghai, especially Shanghai Normal University, and sum up the the useful experiences of the hosting of university of the Aged by Institutions of Higher Education.Chapter IV: Strategies and suggestions. According to the analysis of the status quo to identify the existing problems of the hosting of university of the Aged by Institutions of Higher Education, and accordingly put forward corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.
