The new curriculum standards of primary English require us to change traditional teaching means and teaching pattern. Educational game gives us the dawning of curriculum reform. The application of educational game in primary English breaks through limitation of the conventional teaching, provides us a new thought of course reform, moreover enrich the theory research on information technology and curriculum integration.Firstly, the paper expounds the theory about educational game by a large number of literature study. Secondly, we build the application mode that applied educational game to primary English course, and establish an assisted teaching platform. Thirdly, we may verify the validity of the application mode and the platform. The paper can be divided into several parts as follows concretely.1. Review of related theoryThe paper elaborates and analyses the related concept about educational game and it's theoretical basis through an extensive literature research.2. To survey the application status of educational game in Primary English.We obtain the investigation data mainly through questionnaire, interview and so on. The status includes as follows:teachers'understanding of educational game and acceptance degree of applying educational game in primary English teaching, the practical application condition of educational game in English teaching and difficulties.3.Build the application mode and establish an assisted teaching platform.We build the application mode in vocabulary teaching, listening teaching, grammar teaching and phonetics teaching by analyzing the primary English curriculum goals, course content and subject characteristics, combined with features of present educational games. In addition, we establish an assisted teaching platform, which may provide resources, environmental and technical support for teachers and students using educational games, and provide evidence for formative assessment.4.To verify effectiveness through quasi-experimental research. We select two parallel classes in Zhongshan Road Primary School in Beibei District Chongqing City as the research object, one for experimental class, one for control class. In the control class we use traditional teaching methods, while in the experimental class we integrate conventional teaching with educational games, that means to making use of educational games to assist teaching. In the later stage, we collect correlative data and analyze them to verify the validity of application mode and platform availability through the rating scale, questionnaire, testing, interview and so on. Finally, we do reflection and summary then come to final conclusions.The study indicates that it is feasible to apply educational games in primary English teaching. The unique charm of educational games——"edutainment" is a good way to stimulate students' interest and enthusiasm to learn English effectively. At the same time, it puts forward higher requirements for English teachers in primary school, such as requiring teachers to improve their information literacy level, have a correct attitude toward the change about teachers'status, and guide students reasonably.
