As the basic activity, the play-based teaching model is an universally accepted conception in preschool education field, however, for a long time, there is still a phenomenon of underrating play in practice. To carry out the play-based teaching model, we should not only be clear about its theory, but also build up an effective supporting system in practice. And this supporting system should involve different levels in the practice of a kindergarten.This research is based on the method of qualitative research, I choose one waldorf kindergarten as a case, to research on its practice of play by observation, interview, and physical collection. Then I analyzes its supportive factors of the play-based teaching model, and make some valuable suggestions.This paper falls into four parts.First, introduction, it introduces the origins of this research, its references, methods, key points and difficulties.Second, in the first part, this essay summarizes and analyzes the practice of play in that waldorf kindergarten. In that kindergarten, free play is the main activity, in which teachers guide the children by imitation and model. They pay more attention to provide natural environment and simple materials of play.Third, the second part, which is the key part of the research, analyzes its supportive factors of the play-based teaching model. Such as its property of private non-benefit organization, democratic management policies, professional training system, and effective cooperation model between kindergarten and family.At last, on the basis of case study, the third part draws a conclusion that the play-based teaching model should face the authentically of education, we should construct effective supporting system to ensure it, and pay attention to create environment regression to life and nature as well as the integration of play and teaching.
