While the society developing fast and intergenerational differences, the new generation of migrant workers has beeome themain body of the migrant workergroup. The new generation of migrant workers were both producers and consumers in the consume society. We can know personal identity from consumption patterns.In order to analyze their personal identity from subjects of the new generation of migrant workers,We are guided by relationship of consuming and recognition, theory of symbols consumption, meanwhile based on the investigation and interview of Nanjing. The paper can be divided into six Parts:The first part is the introduction, including the cause of the research question, the definition of basic concepts,the lecture review of related study as well as the purpose and research methods of the study.The second part mainly analyze consumption patterns of the new generation of migrant workers.First, about their feature:Younger, Higher degree of education, Higher unmarried ratio, Higher city life identities. Then, analyzing the current about five aspects about consumption, food consumption, housing consumption, leisure consumpti and traffic consumption.The third part mainly analyze personal identity of the new generation of migrant workers.We know they weaked the farmers identity, Strengthed external citizen identity and internal citizen identity.Then analyze personal identity of the new generation of migrant workers from four aspects about resource framework inductive framework,demonstrativeness framework,identity framework.The fourth part mainly analyze realistic factor about restricting personal identity of the new generation of migrant workers.Include low income and social security system is not perfect, prejudice and discrimination of urban residents.The fifth part mainly analyze how to promote personal identity of the new generation of migrant workers. First, establishing the fair opening labour market.Second, perfecting the social security system.Third, playing community guiding functionThe sixth part is conclusion.
