| As the online education being an important educational form, the online course design is becoming the focus for the educators and researchers. However, facing the new learning environment, what emotional and behavioral characteristics will learners own when they access to an online courses for the first time? How would teachers design a good beginning of the online courses enabling learners to adapt to and like online learning? What competence would teachers need to be prepared for online teaching? What competence would students need to be prepared for online learning smoothly? All these are need to be carefully thought and practiced by the online teachers. Therefore, this dissertation is aimed at discussing the"duration of preparation to learn"for the online course.This dissertation consists of four parts: literature summarization, case study, model explanation and the teaching practice.In the part of literature summarization, this dissertation elucidates the importance and necessity of research on the"duration of preparation to learn"for the online course from the real status. Afterward makes an analysis of the theory and practice related to the study both at home and abroad, and finds that the researchers focus on different points.In the part of cases study, this dissertation selects the Intel Teach to Future online course and a free course of the British Open University as the cases, analysis and summarizes the effective resources and activities that can promote the learner to adapt to and acquaint with the online learning environment and the contents. It provide specific examples for building the model of the"duration of preparation to learn"for the online course.In the part of model explanation, this dissertation build a model of the"duration of preparation to learn"for the online course from the micro-level, provides a guidelines for teacher novices to design the beginning of the online course and what preparation the teachers and the learners should to do before the online course starts.In the part of teaching practice, this dissertation describes the empirical work of teaching using the model and the Moodle course management system, obtains some data and experience. The results show that online learners need"duration of preparation to learn", the beginning activities and resources in the online course that designed by the online teachers can help learners meet the learning environment, overcome all obstacles to study smoothly. Exploring the "duration of preparation to learn" for online course has a certain practical significance.However, with the change of the E-learning environment and the technology, the"duration of preparation to learn"for online course need more exploring. In this dissertation, there are some defects, such as how to optimize the technical support and how to make the model fit for the online course designing. It need to be further improved. |
