Study On Universities Counselor's Career Management

The ideological and political work of universities in the new situation needs a group of professional and specialized counselors in universities. In the past few years the party central committee, the state council and education administration department gave great attention to this work, unveiled a series of documents, all of which provide the construction and development of the group of counselors with favorable environment. However, until now the development of the counselors in universities has such problems as the ambiguity of the role location and the inconformity between the comprehensive quality and profession competence and real working requirements, the illegitimacy of the instructors construction and unsoundness of internal managerial system of the universities and so forth, all these problems hinder the process of the development of professionalism and specialization the counselors in universities.In order to explore the effective approaches, we have done further research on the career management, found out that the management theory has gradually mature which is extensively applied to the enterprise, executive department and public institution and has good effect. On the other hand, taking the counselors and administrative cadres in the six universities in Jiangxi province as the research object, we use the methods of the investigation and interview to know the current situation of career management of the counselors implemented by the counselors themselves and the organization in the universities. Applying creatively the theory of the professional career management to the management of the counselors in the universities, we creatively and systematically make suggestions about particular measures of career management from aspects of counselors themselves and organization in universities, according to the different stages of professional career of the counselors. All these have important significance for promoting the level of the professionalism and specialization of the group of the counselors in universities, and cultivating the constructors and qualified successors.
