College counselors,as the practitioners of daily ideological and political education and management of college students,are at the frontline of student work with a wide range of work scope,including class management,ideological and political education,enrollment and employment,scholarship,student subsidies and student loans,etc.,playing a significant role in colleges.In recent years,the national education authorities lay more emphasis on the construction of counselors in colleges and universities.The work function settings shall be adjusted and improved,and efforts shall be spared to increase the construction level of counselors and facilitate the counselors' work and life according to the relevant documents.At present,due to a wide range of work,unknown channels of promotion and other reasons,counselors in colleges and universities suffer from greater work pressure,which imposes damage on their both physical and mental health and leads to the decline of their work efficiency and occupational happiness.Therefore,the study on the occupational happiness of counselors and the understanding of the factors involved may not only bring practical significance but also matter the normal exercise of national education authorities' policy and the implementation of colleges' and universities' work.Therefore,W is taken as a case to investigate the occupational happiness of its counselors.W,as a famous university in Hunan Province,has made great achievements in the process of its development,however,during which some problems have appeared in the construction of its counselors,regarding to unclear positioning of the functions,decreasing work efficiency,decreasing occupational happiness and so on.In order to solve these problems,based on the previous studies on the occupational happiness of counselors,subjective occupational happiness questionnaire,job satisfaction questionnaire and job burnout questionnaire are used to study the occupational happiness of counselors of W in Hunan Province,with occupational happiness of counselors of different forms of work and years of service studied.This study finds that there are close relationships among the subjective happiness,job satisfaction and job burnout of counselors of W.In addition,on the basis of in-depth analysis of occupational happiness of counselors in W and previous studies,the countermeasuresto improve the occupational happiness of counselors of W are worked out from human resource planning,recruitment and allocation,training and development,performance management,compensation and benefit management,and employee relationship management.
