In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge is the force at the core in the development of economy, and it has become one of the main and basic factors in elements of creating value. According to Polanyi's research, knowledge can be divided into explicit knowledge and tacit knowledge. Tacit knowledge is not only the most important knowledge which accounts for 80% in knowledge categories, but also is people's sense of innovation and source of inspiration. Tacit knowledge is the core resources of the operation, the core assets of value creating and the major factors of competitiveness in university. Tacit knowledge management becomes an important content of management in university. However, most of researches about knowledge management are on the management of explicit knowledge. There are rear researches about tacit knowledge management in university. But now, tacit knowledge management in university has become a hot research topic. In the current social development environment, the specialized study on tacit knowledge management in university is the demand of the theory and practice.Under the above-mentioned background, this paper mainly discusses the following parts:Firstly, on the basis of introducing theories of the knowledge, knowledge management in university, tacit knowledge, and tacit knowledge in university, the content, features, status and roles of tacit knowledge management in university are identified. And from the angle of both theory and practice, the paper tries to analyze the distribution of tacit knowledge in university and proposes a new process of tacit knowledge management in order to prompt a virtuous cycle process. Secondly, through the investigation about the status of tacit knowledge management in university, this paper makes an analysis of the necessity of tacit management from internal and external factors. Lastly, the paper raises tacit knowledge's integration strategies, sharing strategies, learning strategies and motivation strategies to solve the problems in tacit knowledge management in university. These strategies make the tacit knowledge management go on smoothly and enhance the competitiveness of university.
