With the development of modern media technology, drama arts have gone deep into people's minds through media. By using various artistic means like literature, music, dance, painting and so on to create characters, drama shows us a wealth of social phenomena. It is the heritage and development of traditional culture and art, manifesting the humanistic spirit and the human aesthetic pursuit. It is a universal and inclusive integrated art, which is not only rich in content, but also presents the aesthetic features of multi-levels, multi-structures, and multi-elements. The drama teaching under the concept of New Curriculum, should base on the classic dramas reading. On this basis, it appreciates the literariness and art of dramas, supplementing teaching methods like play appreciation, play performance, play creating and so on, in order to improve the standard of drama teaching and the aesthetic personalities of students.This paper analyzes and discusses the status and reflection of Chinese drama teaching in middle school, the need for improving students'aesthetic personality in Chinese language teaching, the advantages of training aesthetic personality in drama teaching, as well as the principles and relevant strategies of using drama teaching to train students' aesthetic characters.First, the current status and reflection of drama teaching.In general, the current drama teaching and research is relatively unvalued in Chinese teaching of middle school. This part of the paper attempts to analyze the aspects of textbook selection, teachers'teaching, students'learning, Chinese language examinations and the current drama teaching and research. According to the analyses, it suggests that we should improve and enrich the type of selected plays, compose related supplementary materials to help teachers improve their drama teaching, change the evaluation method of examination to encourage students'interest, and propose to reflect the aesthetic education function in the drama teaching. Second, the pursuit of aesthetic personality in Chinese drama teaching of middle school.Aesthetic personality is an ideal personality, and a highest pursuit for human value. People who are possessed of aesthetic character have reached the state of beauty in the pursuit of spirit and value, and shows aesthetic properties including harmony, individuality, freedom, surpassing and creativity. This part mainly explains the connotations and features of personality and aesthetic character. In accordance with the characteristics of drama and the pursuit of modern education for aesthetic personality, this chapter points out that the train of aesthetic personality plays an important function in Chinese drama teaching of middle school. In the analysis of contemporary social status, middle school students'personalities and the pursuit of the value of drama, it also proposes the necessity of training students'aesthetic character in drama teaching.Third, the advantage of training students'aesthetic personality in drama teaching.Drama, as an integrated art, combines various kinds of artistic expressions like music, dance, painting and so on. These artistic means contain rich aesthetic factors, which provide the training of students'aesthetic character with abundant education resources. The advantages are as follows: drama tragedy describes the destroy process of valuable things to obtain people's sympathy and sorrow, and thus reflects the beauty of tragedy; the unique beauties of dramatic language including personal charms, action beauty, poetic beauty, rhyme beauty, and subtle beauty; things reflected from the theater culture like ethical styles, local flavors and charming performing arts.Fourth, the training of students'aesthetic personality in drama teaching.This section focuses on how to train students'aesthetic personality in drama teaching, and what relevant principles should be followed. On the one hand it is necessary to meet the unique aesthetic psychological characteristics of students, that is, aesthetic experience, aesthetic appreciation, and aesthetic creativity, etc.; on the other hand, we should seize the characteristics of drama, because the learning of drama is on the basis of the script. According to such teaching principle, this part proposes the teaching methods like reading appreciation, research discussion and practice experience. Through these teaching methods, we can mobilize students'enthusiasm of learning dramatic works, expand students'existing aesthetic psychological structure, help them acquire correct aesthetic attitudes, enrich their aesthetic experience and improve their aesthetic ability, then eventually enhance students'aesthetic personality. These strategies not only sum up the traditional way of drama teaching, but also suggest a new understanding for drama teaching.
