Research On The Relationship Of Population Distribution And The Coordinated Development Of Regional Economies In Guangdong

As pointed out by Zeming Jiang, population issue is the issue of development essentially. This thesis has analyzed the current situation of population distribution and regional economy development. Through the multi-dimensional analysis of population distribution and economy development of four regions in Guangdong province: the Pearl River delta, West wing, East wing and 5 mountain cities, this thesis shows that the unbalance of population and economy distribution of Guangdong Province is quite obvious. As to the economy viability, Pearl River delta is strongest; east wing and west wing is the medium; mountain five cities are the weakest. For the dynamic evolution, Guangdong province shows the trend of population concentration to the Pearl River delta. However, since 1990s, it also shows the tendency of decentralization, especially the reverse trend of regional population and economic dynamics of evolution. Coordinated development of population and economy has become one of the most significant issues in Guangdong. At the beginning of 21st century, we should further implement the centralization strategy of population and economy space to establish a coordinated development regional pattern of population, economy and ecological environment.Unbalance is one of the basic features of population and economy distribution. The spatial concentration of population and economic is the internal rules for regional development. This thesis has come to a conclusion that the Pearl River delta is suffering over pressure from the oversize population; east wing and west wing as well as mountain five cities should migrate and immigrate population to comprehensively resolve the problem of local environmental, economical and social sustainable development issues. At present, Guangdong is facing with good opportunities, which is able to bring perfect chance for market reform and reasonable adjustment on population migration/immigration to gradually transfer population to east wing, west wing and mountain five cities, so as to promote the economy development, improve ecological environment and upgrade local industries. This thesis has illustrated the correlation between regional economy development and population redistribution. In addition, it has summarized the experiences and problems of Guangdong's population distribution and regional economy development, on this bias to raises suggestions and thoughts for reasonable population redistribution to promote the coordinated development of population and economy. Regional development will inevitably influence its population distribution. Meanwhile, the population distribution of a region shows multiple information of its development, and influences its development in return. Therefore, it is quite of great meaning to study the population distribution changes of a region. This thesis has analysis the statists of 2009 and make out the distribution of population density maps and the Lorenz curve of Guangdong province, so as to analyze the changes and causes of population change during the past 20 years.
