Since the opening reformation, there has been a growing prosperity in Chinese university curriculum research, which has created an concern in university curriculum design research. The clear positioning of curriculum goals, the alterations of curriculum contents, the flexible teaching methods and the gradual fairness of curriculum assessment have cultivated thousands of excellent persons for China and a curriculum design thought with Chinese characteristics has preliminarily developed. However, with the increasing of undergraduates and teaching staff, the society strongly voices for quality-oriented education; Chinese university curriculum design hasn't met its ideal requirements and results; the students'original knowledge, capabilities and emotions haven't developed harmoniously with each other. Therefore, this thesis makes a comprehensive analysis and investigations on university curriculum designers with the help of documentary, historical and theoretical studies, which will provide them with practical values to improve university curriculum design qualities.Our research results show that the problems in university curriculum design are mainly as followings:the designers'lack of students'study analysis, their mechanical understanding of curriculum goals, their monotonous selection and organization of curriculum contents, their rigid teaching methods and one-sided evaluation of curriculum design, which result from the increase of people's knowledge, the diversified learning motivations and the curriculum designers'lack of knowledge, capabilities and emotional input. The research also maintains that university curriculum design program is not satisfying due to inadequate detailed analysis on a series of curriculum elements before design, thus the existing problems cannot be resolved completely. On the basis of speculative analysis of university curriculum design elements, we put forward such suggestions on university curriculum design, that is: curriculum designers should fully understand students'study, get involved in curriculum goals design, have diversified teaching methods, assess curriculum humanely and cultivate teaching staff consistently.
