Along with the progress of social civilization and swift and violent development of science and technology, the development level of special education has already become an important symbol of measuring the comprehensive strength and civilization degree of a nation and a region. It also has reflected human-oriented time spirit to a certain extent. The development level of special education is decided by its quality, while its quality is decided by special education teachers'education quality. American special education depends on its teachers'high quality education, which makes its development level of special education to be at the world leading position. American special education teachers'education experienced a developing process of nothing to come out, from coming out to be strong, from the low level to the high level. In the end, it formed consummate special education teachers'education system. This winding developing process provides referable experience for our nation's special education teachers'education reform.By ways of literature analysis, comparative methodology and historical methodology, the article tries to analysis the developing process and the current situation of American special education teachers'education, then to sum up its reform and developing trend. At last, I get some correlated enlightenment by connecting with our nation's reality, so as to put forward the corresponding proposals for improving and suggestions. All of which aims at consummate our nation's special education teachers'education system. This paper consists of five parts. The first part is the introduction, which introduces the reason why I choose this subject, researching significance, the current researching situation of domestic and foreign countries, researching methods, and gives definition to the keywords.The second part reviews the developing process of American special education teacher education. I divide it into three periods: Colonial times, times of Independent War to the time before World War Two, after World War Two, and so on. I also introduce in detail the development situation and basic feature of every times.The third part introduces the current situation of American special education teachers'education. The part tells about the basic needs of teacher training, and then connecting it with their training requests to reappear longitudinally American special education teachers'complete training process: training in advance, training in duty and further education. The part analyzes the current situation and characteristics of each stage. In aspect of the basic requirements of American special education teachers'training, I studied all the teachers'moral requirements, the common training requirements and special training requirements in specific domain of both primary and high-level special education teachers. In aspect of training in advance, it describes training aim, training mode and curriculum design. In aspect of training in duty, it tells about training aim, training content and training practice. In aspect of further education, it sums up the aim, the content and the mode of further education.The fourth part concludes the reform and the developing trend of American special education teachers'education. Connecting with the preamble research, this part proposes four developing trend: to ensure special education teachers'credential system become consummate gradually, to enhance special education teachers'quality steadily by transforming law, to integrate special education teachers'training in advance, training in duty and further education, to cultivate inclusive teacher, and so on.The fifth part tells about enlightenment and suggestions we get from the reform and developing trend of American special education teachers'education. According to our nation's reality, the part connects with the reform and developing trend of American special education teachers'education, I get six enlightenment: to formulate nationwide special education teacher standard, to move forward the specialization of special education teacher with steady steps, to implement special education teachers'credential system, to comprehensively guarantee the training quality of special education teachers, to consummate their training in advance, training in duty and further education, to absorb inclusive education idea, to reform special education teachers'education, to reform their training mode, to enhance their development, to enlarge investment of teacher training, to ensure teachers'education development. At last, the article proposes some local enlightenment and suggestions by analyzing concerned aspects of training requirements, training in advance, training in duty and further education. We hope all of these could provide us with theoretical and practical guidance on our nation's formulating new training requests of special education teacher, consummating their training process and cultivating new special education teacher.
