The higher Vocational Colleges aim for the cultivation of the high-level technical application-oriented talents for the production, construction, management and first-line service.Under the promotion of macro-policy on vigorous development vocational education in our country, people pay more and more attention to the vocational education. Either the number of Recruitment of students or the enrolled student quantity, the higher vocational education has become the important half part in higher education.Physical Education Teaching (PE teaching) in Higher Vocational Colleges makes reforms continuously In order to adapt to the development of higher vocational education as soon as possible and train the new type of high-skilled talents with all-round developmentIn this paper, with the detailed investigations and studies on PE teaching Condition, objectives, content, and methods etc. in Tangshan higher Vocational Colleges, the writer points out its superiorities, existent questions and proposes the corresponding countermeasures to make PE teaching much conform with characteristics of higher vocational colleges, achieve the goal of enhancing the students'physical fitness required for future careers provide the most basic services for students'theoretical study, internships, practical training and the future works At the same time, it can provide a theoretical reference for the promotion of PE teaching development in Tangshan higher vocational colleges, deepening the reform of PE teaching and the full implementation of quality educationThis article utilizes many research methods, such as the literature consultation, Access Investigation Questionnaire, Delphi method, mathematical statistics and so on, The findings indicated:First, the PE teaching in Tangshan higher Vocational College has the advantages: physical education teachers'qualifications and titles have been much higher than the request mentioned in the Ministry of Education, " the view on strengthening the construction of teachers in higher vocational colleges " (The Education Department [2002] 5); in the new "outline" implementation process, Tangshan higher vocational colleges have made great efforts to reform and explore new Pattern of PE teaching, Which has a certain practical significance to the stability and effectiveness of PE teaching.Second, the PE teaching in Tangshan higher vocational colleges has the questions:(1) poor teaching conditions, it is difficult to meet the needs of PE teaching and students. There are mainly manifested in:the stadium and the facilities can not meet the needs of students obviously; the table of teacher organization has a big deficiency, Double Type sports teachers are not prominent. (2) The emphasis on PE teaching in higher Vocational College is not enough. (3) The PE teaching professional characteristics are not obvious for it still applies to the pattern of regular higher college,:(a) At present, there is no clear, unified PE teaching curriculum and teaching materials,160% of the schools have incomplete media instruction facilities and the general usage is not high. (b) PE teaching goals are not combined with its professional personnel training objectives; (c) teaching contents have poor target, all majors learn the same content basically and lack features and professional characteristics of higher vocational colleges; (d) out-of-date and single teaching methods does not meet Students' features of Vocational College; (e) teaching evaluation methods are unscientific, ignoring the students'learning process and attitude assessment. There are less proportion evaluation of physical fitness of students, especially the evaluation needed for the occupation.(4) The effect of PE teaching does not meet needs of the higher vocational education reform, mainly displays in:(a) Physical Education class period is relatively small, the students are lack of physical activity time, most of the colleges PE class periods are the minimum standard regulated in HeBei province, there are only PE class in three semesters when study in three-year period. (b) The attention to the student's health standard tests is not enough. (c) School extra-curricular sports activities carry out poorly, the number of students to participate in extra-curricular activities reduced with the grade growth gradually.60% of the schools have no clear provisions to students'participation in morning exercises; afternoon extra-curricular activities are in the individual, spontaneous, decentralized disordered state. Thus, students in physical fitness led to a declining trend.Third, for the above-mentioned problems, combined with the present situation, findings of investigation and expert opinion, put forward the corresponding teaching strategies, including:by strengthen the team-building of physical education teachers; make a clear idea of PE teaching in Higher Vocational colleges; formulates PE teaching objectives with outstanding professional characteristics; for students professional characteristics arrange teaching content, teaching methods and teaching evaluation according to the students'major features and the needs for the future occupation, with those measures to strengthen physical education building with the characteristics of higher vocational colleges. Through strengthening the construction and management of school sports location and equipment; increase the class hours of physical education and adjust the teaching training program; emphasis on the organization and management of extracurricular sports activities; fully implement the "Student Health Standard" and other measures to improve students'basic and professional requirement physical fitness.
