Practice system is the important component of the Chinese and foreign language textbooks. It is the dialogue bridge of students, editors, works, and teachers. It is an important way that reflect the educational philosophy, teaching points and the intention of editors.The paper compares practice system of Chinese and American Middle School textbooks. It makes American Literature and the Chinese textbooks as the object of study. American Literature was written by Ma Haolan and published by Chinese Women's Press. And the Chinese textbooks was published by People's Education Press.The paper's writing idea can state as follows:it summarizes the structure of practice system of textbooks by Induction.The first chapter Introduces the structure of practice system of Chinese and American Middle School textbooks. The second chapter Introduces the features and presentation of practice system of Chinese and American Middle School textbooks. The third chapter reflects the reason American Middle School textbooks, Investigate the essence which behind the phenomenon. At the same time, gives advice to the reform of practice system of Chinese textbooks.In frame, it contains Macro-aspect and micro-aspect. In Macro-aspect, it compares by structure, content, kinds of questions, amount. In micro-aspect, it compares by reading and writing. As the frame is very abstract, the study makes the typical examples as Cases, introduces the frame and the examples at the same time, then compares the differences of practice system of Chinese and American Middle School textbooks. It summarizes the advantages and disadvantages, gives concrete and feasible program advice. The study method is document and comparison.
