| Innovative education is a kind of education which stimulates innovative consciousness, cultivates the spirit of innovation and develops innovative ability. Putting innovative education into practice is not only the need of the development of education, but also the need of social development. In the 21st century, because knowledge-based economy develops rapidly and international competition is becoming severe, talents especially creative talents are needed badly. In 2004, the New High School Curriculum Reform began, whose core mission is to promote the reform of traditional classroom teaching in order to enable students to take part in teaching and learning activities actively and to form a"multidimensional interactive"teaching atmosphere in order to realize students full innovative potential. As the intermediary of teaching theories and teaching practice, teaching mode is the focus of the New High School Curriculum Reform.In this study, based on in-depth understanding of connotations and features of innovative education, I interpret the theoretical basis and the steps to teaching of seven current common teaching modes in primary schools of America and reveal how these teaching modes influence innovative education. On this basis, in this paper, I introduce and extend"core competency"in economics and make it as the principle of the selection of teaching mode based on innovative education, and focus on interpreting co-teaching and inquiry-based teaching strategies which are based on innovative education from four aspects, that is, connotations, conditions, process and limitations.The purpose of this study is to guide teachers to select effective teaching mode by combing the objective of teaching, teaching content and student level on the background of New High School Curriculum Reform in order to cultivate students'creative thinking, improve their interest in learning during daily teaching and improve their comprehensive quality thoroughly as well as their affection for classes.
