In 1990's, with the aging process in the acceleration of aging in all aspects of our country's social development has brought great influence, which the most prominent issues for the aged. As the family planning policy and a significant increase of nuclear families, home care can not meet the social development. More and more elderly people have to get into institutional care. How are these old people living in nursing homes like? Can they spend their remaining years in the nursing home happily? It has become the focus of the whole society. We need an objective analysis of this issue. This study of 143 elderly in nursing homes which is on an overall sense of happiness surveys can show the circumstances about subjective well-being of the elderly who live in the nursing homes.Seven subjects who got low well-being are willing to participate in group counseling intervention in nursing homes .There are four purposes of this research for the elderly .The first is trying to find a way to help for the elderly in nursing homes.The second is to enhance subjective well-being and guide the elderly in nursing homes to lead an active lifestyle.The third is to enhance the psychological adjustment ability of the elderly.The forth is helping the nursing homes for the elderly for a practical and effective mode on mental health. The results are as follows:1 The majority of nursing homes for the elderly's subjective well-being at normal levels. In the gender dimension, nursing homes for the elderly overall level of subjective well-being there is no difference, but two factors ,in the control and anxiety, were significant difference. There is professional experience of the elderly's subjective well-being was significantly higher than those without professional experience of the elderly. A religious nursing homes for the elderly's subjective well-being was significantly higher than no religion. Surviving spouse's subjective well-being of the elderly was significantly higher than the elderly without a spouse. At different ages of nursing homes for the elderly in the total score of subjective well-being, health concerns, satisfaction and anxiety, there are significant differences. The years of living in different subjective well-being of the elderly in the total score, the health concerns, satisfaction, mood and anxiety of these factors, there was significant difference. Different education levels of the elderly in the total score happiness, satisfaction and anxiety has significant difference. 2 nursing homes for the elderly in group counseling, subjective well-being improved significantly. Group counseling to nursing homes and old people worried about the health of a significant reduction, mood state improved significantly reduce anxiety.
