Through questionnaire and interviews, the research investigated the situation of choosing and using picture books among kindergarten teachers in Shanghai. The goals of this research are as follows:1. how teachers gain information about prime picture books; 2.to understand the situation of teacher choosing the picture books,and how to choose the prime picture books;3.whether the self-condition of teacher impact on choosing picture books;4. to understand the situation of teachers how to analyses and use chosen picture books.The research objects fall on selective 100 teachers randomly chosen from 8 public kindergartens in Shanghai City. The investigation instrument is "Questionnaire on the Kindergarten Teachers'choose and use of picture books", while the data from this questionnaire will be analyzed by some statistical methods such as One-Way ANOV. We choose 5 specialist and 8 teachers and then interview with them based on 2 chosen picture books. According to the research result, it shows that:First, picture books have now come into use quite extensively in the teaching of kindergarten, many kindergarten teachers love to reading and collecting picture books, most of teacher gain the information of picture books through various ways, such as Internet, book store, recommend by colleague and specialist, etc; Second, the factors of teacher considerate are reasonable, and they are coincides with experts opinion:in the first place, teachers want to choose the picture books are "it is interesting and loved by children". The second factor they considerate is "to choose the picture books which are fitting the curriculum theme". The third factor they considerate is "to choose self-loved or moved picture books". Third, the self-condition of teachers will impact on choosing picture books, such as the fields of their teaching and skilled, personality, experience, cultural values and attitudes; Fourth, most teacher are able to understand the artistic conception and primary coverage of chosen picture books, but a majority of teachers didn't analysis and use the pictures of book, result in a certain missing in the value of art education of picture books. Furthermore, there are significant differences between kindergarten, which rating is different or whether feature as reading, their teacher are different on choosing and using picture books in collective activities.
