From the autumn of 2001, the primary schools have offered the English class in our country. Judging from the practice in recent years, the problems of primary school English teaching such as teaching materials, teachers, teaching plans and teaching methods demand prompt solution. It's a task of top priority to solve the serious shortage and low quality of primary school English teachers. The improvement of teachers'quality is the precondition and effective guarantee for implementation of quality education, while it depends on a high-quality teachers' training. Therefore, the strengthening of primary school English teachers'training has far-reaching significance.This paper is based on the investigation to show the basic situation of the primary school teachers'training in Wuhe county, Anhui province. According to the existing problems, it analyses the subjective and objective factors in-depth study that influence the teachers'training of primary school. And it also explores the effective ways to reinforce the primary school English teachers'training, providing some feasible and practical training method for primary school English teacher in Wuhe county and even for the whole province to promote the reforms of primary school English curriculum. There are four parts in this paper.Part one is the preface. It states the importance to strengthen primary school English teachers'training, comments on the study level of the English teacher training to the domestic primary school, brings forth the related definitions and introduces the goal content and methods of the survey.In part two, teachers'professional development, the constructivism and theory of adult learning are regarded as a theoretical basis for this paper. And it analyses the effectiveness of teachers'training.Part three is mainly about the investigation and research of primary school English teachers'training in Wuhe county. Firstly, by the survey and interview, the basic information and current training situation are obtained. Secondly, it emphasizes the mainly problems as follows:low quality, obvious individual difference and difficulty on training of primary school English teachers; training contents emphasis on theory, not the practice, target is not strong; single training way and teaching method, interactive communication is inadequate; single training mechanism and evaluation system is not perfect; serious lack of funds and trainers'level is weak. At last, it analyses the reasons resulting in the problems from the trainee, training mechanism, trainer and training evaluation system.In part four, it puts forward some countermeasures and proposals to improve the English teachers' training of primary school in Wuhe county from the following three aspects:updating the training concept and arousing the motivation of primary school English teachers in training; optimizing the trainers and carefully selection of training content; innovating the training pattern and improving the evaluation system.
