On The Management Mechanism Of Chinese College Student Crises

Our country is in the transformation period, so does higher education, which is undergoing a great change. Interweave of the two and reform would certainly lead to more problems. As part of the social system, colleges cannot stay far away from it and would endure diverse crises resulting from reform. Among these crises, student crisis is certainly the most important and influential one which should be the core of attention. Whether we can deal with the student crisis properly, control or decrease the influence and damage, or even turn the crisis into opportunity and develop the university, to some extent, reflect the management of the university from some perspectives. The author consults the related literature and data extensively and has a systematic retrospect and deep analysis, and at last puts forward according explanations due to the new situation and circumstance as well as the author's work experience. The author divides the cause of student crisis into three aspects: social circumstance, inner elements of higher education and individual factors; considers the present problem of student crisis management as follows:shallow understanding, a lack of crisis management and concepts as well as training and practice, distempered crisis management and legal systems; puts forward five principles in student crisis management: overall aim but local start, value priority, collective agreement, operational and amendable principles; discusses the establishment of student crisis management mechanism and thinks carefully about countermeasures from the perspectives of mechanisms of effective early warning, rapid response and control, restoration and reconstruction as well as support and security; analyses the setup of organizations and deployment of resources in the process of crisis management and emphasizes the ideological and political education of college students and party-building work in the importance of crisis management.
