In 1922, with the published of《the new academic》, the position of sports in the school education has established, then, school physical education entered a new stage of development. In 2008,30 years of reforming and opening had laid the foundation for the development of long-term stability of school physical education, and with the successful hosting of Beijing Olympic Games; the society has put forward new demands and challenges of school physical education in personnel training. In this backdrop, this article selected school physical education thought of the period in 1922 to 2008, as the main target of analysis and discussion. Vertically, carding the most representative physical education thought of different historical stages of China according to chronological. Horizontally, compare with the school physical education thought of different historical stages of Sino-US, to reveal the ideological differences between the two countries, to provide references for the development of educational thought and practice.The main conclusions drawn from this study are as follows:First, Review the evolution history of physical education thought of China in more than 80 years, the development of physical thought has deeply affected by social, economic, political, cultural, educational, sports and other factors, has obvious characteristics of the historical stage, which have been marked with a distinctive brand of the times. Chinese school physical education thought has achieved innovation development in conflict and integration with western physical education thought.Second, throughout the development of school physical education thought of Sino-US, Chinese school physical education thought has a hysteresis than in the United States. The innovation of Chinese physical education thought is obviously insufficient. Third, in introduction stage, introduce Japanese military idea and the United States national naturalistic sports idea as Chinese school physical education main thought. Meanwhile, Chinese nationalist physical education thought has coexisted.Forth, in the stage of learning from former Soviet Union, Chinese school physical education thought emphasis too much on physical education in national mission, and neglect the development needs of students in practice, had influenced by sports model of the former Soviet Union in long-time. In the same period, the "new sports" theory of Hetherington emphasized on physical education and scientific, rise to the concerning of some scholars in China.Fifth, in the stage of the Cultural Revolution, affected by the mistake ideas, "politics impact sports ", " labor instead of sports " and " the military instead of sports" filled with the practice and thought of school physical education, physical education have been seriously distorted.Sixth, in the stage of the initiative, Chinese school physical education thought appeared the situation of "hundred schools contend", and a variety thought of sports. The thought of "Health First" stand out from many educational thought, became the mainstream educational thought during this period, in the same time, Chinese physical education thought had affected by "life-time sports" of American.Seventh, In the future, the development of Chinese physical education thought will fall to "Harmonious Sports" idea in the confliction and integration with western school physical education thought and Chinese traditional culture.
