To adapt to the times, many countries around the world have carried out related educational reform policies and action; with the primary purpose of promoting fitness, the physical education curriculum is an important part of the curriculum reform. The mainland and Taiwan are the same roots originally, sharing a common historical background and cultural origins. Due to historical reasons, however, the two sides belong to two different social systems; in different social systems and political environments, the development of physical education curriculum are not the same.This study is aimed to discuss the impact of the primary schools’physical education curriculum in both Mainland and Taiwan on children’s physical fitness. With the literature analysis, comparative education research and detection method, this study conducts comparative analysis of the philosophy, objectives, teaching content, teaching methods and other factors of the primary schools’physical education curriculum standards in both two sides, as well as the gap between the actual situation of physical education teaching and the theories.Besides, according to the results of physical fitness test of the two sides’primary students, this paper discusses the impact of the primary schools’physical education curriculum in both two sides on children’s physical fitness. Finally, based on the results of the comparative study,improvement suggestions for primary school physical education curriculum are proposed, to provide effective referencefor the reform of primary school physical education curriculum and the improvement of primary school students’fitness in both two sides.
