Research Into The Countermeasures In Furthering The Reform Of The University Credit System

Credit System, originally developed from the course system of higher learning, was first put forward by German famous educationalist Humboldt; that is, students voluntarily choose their curricula, teachers and schools, and voluntarily arrange the learning sequence and progress of their study. During the past thirty years of the reform and opening up, China's higher education has made considerable progress in its development, and as the important content in the management of higher learning, credit system has had profound development. However, the credit system in colleges and universities is still satisfactory. These include blindness in taking courses, scarcity in education resource, lag of teaching management, strictness of professional limit, and so on. Based on the analysis and study of present education situation in S Province and that of teaching management in credit system, this essay points out the problems in implementing credit system in S Province, that is, insufficient awareness of credit system, short education resources matched with it, not-so-high level of teaching management, and not-so-strong self-study consciousness of the students'.In view of these problems, and by way of comparative study and literature review, the essay proposes some countermeasures and suggestions to promote the reform of credit system in S province.(1) To deeply understand the "students-oriented" and improve the fairness of education. This essay advances the idea of "students-oriented", fair education condition, unification of various employment and self-study, and the approaches to deeply understanding the credit system under the background of public education and in the condition of national education policy.(2)To improve teaching management system and promote all talent. The essay puts forward the specifically-implemented measures in optimizing teaching programs, perfecting course-taking system, strengthening the construction of teaching staff, establishing and improving the tutorial system, reforming curricular examination system, perfecting management system, and strengthening students' consciousness of students' self-study.(3) To improve efficiency and effectiveness of management and upgrade the level of teaching management. The essay brings forward the basic measures of teaching management in perfecting the network infrastructure, improving the capability of network management, strengthening the training of management employees, upgrading the quality of management, and streamlining and refining the processes of management.(4) To form the basic idea in building the resource sharing platform and in improving the efficiency of use of education resource in S Province.
