Many aspects in the field of curriculum have changed because of the new round of curriculum reform in the Senior Middle School of China. The regulation of curriculum structure is considered the core of this curriculum reform. After the reform, the new Curriculum Structure of China includes three levels-learning areas, subject and module. Chemistry, Physical, Biology and Natural Geography are belonged to the scientific areas because their values are similar. The four subjects shoulder the important task of improving scientific literacy of students. Within the subject setting, each subject is further divided into several modules in this curriculum reform. The scientific areas and module are the first attempts to the curriculum structure of science curriculum in the Senior Middle School of China. It is worth considering and exploring whether the first attempts fit the characteristics of science education in the senior middle school scientifically and reasonably and whether their theory values and functions play a great role in the progress of practice.This article focuses on defining the curriculum structure, then analyzes the importance of the reasonable curriculum structure and summarizes the characteristics of science curriculum structural optimization of the world. As good curriculum structure required good content to provide a guarantee, this article also analyzes the coordination of the content among the modules of Chemistry and the modules of science curriculum.Finally, this article makes a survey on the condition of the offering and teaching of the chemical module curriculum, then summarizes and analyzes the problems reflected by them. And then this article provides some advice on the perfecting and optimizing of the chemical curriculum structure and content in the Senior Middle School of China. Meanwhile, this article aims at making some contributions to the improvement of scientific literacy of students and the teaching of teachers.
