As the first teacher of the children, parents undertake the important responsibilities in the home education. Parents'education qualities directly affect the home education's quality and the children's development. In the age of today, the research focuses on the contemporary parents'education, aim to improve the quality of contemporary parents'education and to promote the development of home education by means of transition of education conception, innovation of education system and advocatory of self-development. Firstly, the research put forward and emphasizes the importance of parents'education, analyzes the qualities with which contemporary parents should be equipped. Then make a diagnosis of education qualities and conditions of pupil's and junior's parents in Shanghai. Finally, probe how to make our contemporary parents'education well and to raise the parents' education qualities on the ground of advanced experience from all over the world. The whole research is divided into the following five chapters:Chapter 1 is introduction. Firstly to elaborate the origin and the background, the aim and the meaning of the research, next to combing some essential concepts, and then to summarize and comment the current research findings of the parents' education both home and abroad. Lastly, give some explanation about the methods and the object of the research.Chapter 2 is the seek of parents'education theory. Proof the importance of parents' education in the first place, and then carding the present laws and regulations related to the parents'education at home and abroad to stress the importance of parents' education. Next to summarize the characteristics of teenagers in modern society in order to prominent the specialties of them, and on this foundation to investigate the qualities parents should be possess.Chapter 3 is the analysis of current situation of parents'education in Shanghai. The research combine interview with questionnaire and contains urban and suburbs district, including about 250 teenagers'parents from some district in Shanghai. By the survey to look into and summarize the situation of home education, the quality of parents'education and the participation into the parents'education. The investigation and study verified some of the standpoints in leading principles and demonstrate the scientific and forward looking of our design of questionnaire.Chapter 4 is take other case as a source of reference. Choose some representative Nations and cases and find out those experience in point that can be used in order to help us to do something when we want to improve the quality of parents'education in contemporary China.Chapter 5 is some methods about how to improve the parents'education. On the foundation of some advanced experience, connection with the special traits of contemporary teenagers and the requirements of high education qualities of parents, the research concerned education notion and system from three lays, proposed a meaningful education system and instructional model, and advocated the self-development of parents according to the study character of adults to improve the education quality of parents.
