Studies On The Political Participation Of Contemporary College Students

Political participation is an important way to achieve the citizens'political rights, which is not only a reflection of the relationship between citizens and the nation on the aspects of rights, duties and obligations, but contributes a lot to the Political Modernization. The political participation concerns the construction of Chinese socialist political civilization, and it also relates to the overall improvement and free development of college students' comprehensive quality and humanity. We must promote the orderly and sound participation of college students to achieve the goal of "building a democratic, prosperous, and civilized modern socialist country".This thesis refereed to a large number of study and books of citizens' political participation and political participation of a particular social class, and carefully read a lot of papers on the political participation of college students, then through induction and summerization, defining the concept of political participation of college students. In order to know the status of political participation of the nowadays college students, I have investigated the political participation situation of students from Hunan University and Hunan Agricultural University and several colleges in Changsha Hunan by using the method of questionnaire.500 questionnaires were distributed,468 valid questionnaires were took back, the effective rate is 93.60%; the political participation situation and real ideas were recorded by the way of randomly interviewing with students in these universities. On the basis of knowing the motivation, styles and characteristics of college students'political participation, found the problems in the consciousness and behaviors, and explored the factors that affected the political participation of college students. After that, the measures and suggestions are given to promote orderly and active political participation of college students. From the reform of the political system, strengthening schools education, self-construction of college students promote college students active and orderly participation in politics.
