In china, the reform of college entrance examination is a catholic concern. There are different opinions about it, both good and bad. It is very important for education researchers to study the situation of the education of other countries. Because by that we can reflect the reality of China's college entrance examination in a global perspective and look for the future of China's college entrance examination. Coupled with Singapore's rapid economic development, their higher education is famous for the success of its college entrance examination system, so the research is unavoidable.There are multiple angles in researching on the college entrance examination. In this paper, I study in a macro perspective, using a variety of ways to look into the new college entrance examination system between the two countries, China and Singapore. They are theory approach, documentary method, historical methods and comparative studies. It is mean to learn from Singapore's model, illustrating the theory and practice of China's college entrance, and find out the ideal system what college entrance examination system ought to be. The whole text is based on the following thought.The first part is about the evolution of Singapore's university entrance examination system. First of all, it gives an overview of Singapore's education system. Then, I add the contents of the development of Singapore's university entrance examination system in the historical process.In the second part I analyze the diverse characteristics of university entrance examination system in Singapore in micro-perspective. Diversity-oriented college and university admission system is the most distinctive feature of Singapore. This chapter seeks to analyze the reason of their existences and specific performance from more than one aspect and makes an objective assessment as far as I can.Part III, reference and enlightenment. In this part, I try to use comparative approach to compare both countries'college entrance examination, combined with China's national conditions. We can draw lessons from Singapore's diversified university entrance examination system and lead the reform of China's current college entrance examination in the future.
