A Study On Chen Heqin's Kindergarten Curriculum Ideas

Chen Heqin is a famous child psychologist and educator who has made outstanding contribution to the scientization and localization of kindergarten curriculum in our country. His kindergarten ideas, such as "Five Fingers Activities Program" and "Unit Teaching", were well adapted to the Chinese situation.For they were a good combination of personal experiments and advanced educational philosophy. These ideas were of great significance considering the separation between the kindergarten curriculum and the China's reality at that time. Mr.Chen's kindergarten curriculum ideas not only have produced a widespread social influence, but will also offer important implications to today's kindergarten curriculum reform.However,little work has been done on a systematic study of Chen Heqin's kindergarten curriculum ideas.With a historical approach,this paper attempts to outline and interpret Chen Heqin's educational ideas within the framework of curriculum.Finally,implications will be discussed over for our country's current kindergarten curriculum reform.This paper is mainly divided into seven parts.
