Study On Education Equity On Social Transition

Education equity is the basic content of social justice and an important cornerstone for building a harmonious society. It is also an essential prerequisite to achieve the goal of socialism common prosperity. Right to education is a basic right of citizens and also an important feature of the socialist system. Since China is undergoing social transition, in the exploration of taking economic construction as the center of reform, many problems have emerged in education equity, such as: lack of educational investment funds in education reform, irrational distribution of resources between urban and rural regions, educational quality variance and so on. In this regard, we should further deepen reform of educational system, improve education policy, increase educational funding, allocate educational resources rationally between urban and rural areas and maximize the realization of educational equity. We also should further standardize and improve the distribution system, reduce social poverty gap between the rich and the poor, curb corruption in education, overcome economic reasons to achieve education equity fundamentally. Providing education of high quality to all citizens to meet their lifelong learning requirements is the basic requirements of the outline for national long-term education development and the premise for ensuring the smooth progress of socialist modernization.
