In the coming age, the fiercest competition will be the competition of the talents, so the developing education has become an important goal of the governments all over the world. With the development of the reform of elementary education and the headmaster-directed system, schoolmasters'leadership becomes a major concern of the society. The idea of education and school-running, the administrative capacity and leadership of a schoolmaster can determines the quality and the efficiency of the school, and it also can be closely connected with the development and success of the school. In the long run, it also closely related to the implementation of the government. It is just opportunities and challenges that called for a capable schoolmasters'strategy and the healthy growth of the children. The instant developed age, the complex reform of the school and the developed trends in school managing all embody the importance of schoolmasters. They are the Gil-grissoms and the leaders in schools. It is just opportunities and challenges that called for a capable schoolmaster.This thesis contains three chapters, including the summarization of schoolmasters'leadership, the current missing situation and reasons of schoolmasters'leadership, and the promoting strategies of schoolmasters'leadership. Chapter One is the summarization of schoolmasters'leadership. It is composed of the connotation of leadership, the element of leadership, and the significance of leadership. First, it mainly states the definition and connotation of leader, leadership and schoolmaster's leadership. Second, it analyzes the constituent elements and structure system. On the base of former researches, the author makes a further research and classification for schoolmasters'leadership from the perspective of the behavioral process of schoolmasters'leadership, putting forward that schoolmasters' leadership is composed of learning ability, decision-making ability, communicating ability, innovating ability and executive ability. Third, it presents the realistic significance of schoolmasters'leadership to the country, education, schools and schoolmasters themselves.Chapter Two analyzes the present situation of schoolmasters'missing leadership and the reasons for it. It is made up of three parts: the missing of schoolmasters'individual leadership, the missing of team leadership and the shortcomings of system management having constrained the development of schoolmasters'leadership. Under the background of present education reform, the contingent of schoolmasters has gained fast and good development, and leadership larger promotion. But, schoolmasters'missing leadership still check and balance its development. Integrating the new problems that primary and middle schools are facing, this thesis tries to analyze the present situation of schoolmasters'leadership, and the missing and promoting obstacles of leadership. The first part discusses the missing of schoolmasters'individual leadership. From the perspective of schoolmasters'qualities and capabilities, with the rapidity of the changes in external environment, schoolmasters'qualities and capabilities cannot meet the need of directing schools'development. The second part is about the missing of headmasters'team leadership. The third part analyzes the shortcomings of system management having constrained the development of schoolmasters'leadership.Chapter Three expounds the promoting strategies for schoolmasters'leadership. By analyzing the missing of schoolmasters'leadership, the reasonable and operated promoting strategies are proposed. The promoting of schoolmasters'leadership is given beneficial learning opportunities from three parts, which are prompting schoolmasters'individual leadership, strengthening and optimizing teamwork, constructing the efficient systematical management. The first part, based on the theory of the constructing schoolmasters'leadership from the perspectives of learning ability, decision-making ability, communicating ability, innovating ability and executive ability, interpretes the promoting strategies of schoolmasters'leadership and explorates schoolmasters'individual quality and capability, as well as the common development of schoolmasters and students. It contributes to the understanding of leadership and the promoting of the individual leadership for schoolmasters. The second part puts forward the rational measures to promote schoolmasters'team-leadership from the level of strengthening team collaboration and optimizing team structure. The third part establishes a development system which supports schoolmasters'leadership. And it is helpful for the important administrators'promoting leadership or improving relative issues.In short, in the face of the opportunities and challenges in the new century, the development of elementary and secondary schools not only need a institutional support , but also need the schoolmasters'excellent leadership. The person who has the power of leadership is competitive. As activities which can affect other people , leadership contains a wealth of content. It is the result of many factors. Schoolmasters can promote the learship of themselves through improving the learning ability, decision-making ability, communicating ability, innovating ability and executive ability with holding the educational conscience and morality. In that case, they can exert the influence of themselves, and lead the school to success in the new era of competition and challenges.
