The Present Situation And Educational Reflection Of University Student's Gender Consciousness

Gender consciousness is not only a mental production of Feminist, a social problem, but also a philosophical thought. It is becoming an important theoretical basis of the stystem of decision-making.From conceptualization to theorization, gender is recognized by the academia gradually and become a field of study and analytical perspective since Amercian feminist made a distinction between the concept of "gender" and "sex" in the late 1970s. People all over the world can feel shock of Le Deuxieme Sexe which is written by Simone de Beauvoir. Beauvoir has held forth some new ideas in her book, such as Androgyny/Bisexualit, "the other", equality between the sexes and three indexes-gender temperament, sex role and gender equality. The investigation shows that most of college students do tend to act traditional sex role in gender relationship, status and respnsibilities in society; the main sex role of students is traditional masculinity, feminization and androgyny, but a few of them mix up the gender differences, some even have gender stereotypes in personality and interpersonal. It has its source in I the following aspects:the sex role in division of labor, the temperament expectations in traditional culture, the subjective mistakes of gender awareness, the artificially intensification of The gender differences, the gender discrimination in public discourse and so on.From the viewpoint of social and thought development, men and women are in equal portions of division of labor, feminine consciousness is waking up and harmonious gender culture is the general situation.Therefore, universities should increase gender education to higher education system, such as creating gender research institutions, insisting on building diversified discipline, offering gender courses, reconstructing the teachers gender, fostering the androgyny of students and so on.
