As cooperation is more and more important, cooperative learning (CL) is becoming a popular teaching approach in classroom. Using language is the best way to acquire language, so learning in CL group offers students the opportunities to use language. The main form of CL is group activity. Students may make dialogues in their cooperative groups and give their performance on behalf of their groups. During the process, students will have deeper understandings and feelings about English.There are its remarkable advantages in the effective cooperative learning in English classroom. It offers students a relaxing and vigorous learning atmosphere, decreases the students' anxiety, and promotes their motivation and attitude of English learning. But the implementation of effective cooperative learning is not satisfying at present. There is a great deal of low efficiency phenomena, for example: over-reliance on the first language, imbalanced participation of students in cooperative learning and so on. All these make a lot of teachers feel puzzled while they are carrying out this teaching method, so at the present most cooperative learning only stay in forms and the effects of CL should be doubted. Many researchers have studied the remarkable results of CL in English classroom and there are also some researches on the relationship between the affective factor and CL, but all the researches have not analyzed all the influential factors completely. Therefore, all those researches can't clearly point out the direction to the implementation of effective CL for teachers.The research aims at finding out what factor influences the effective cooperative learning in English classroom and what should the teacher and student do in CL, which probably lead to the good results in CL in English teaching and learning. 180 students from Tai Yuan NO.3 Middle school have been chosen for the research. Through questionnaire and interview, three data analytical method are adopted (Correlations, A Multiple Regression, and Independent Sample T-test), the conclusion is obtained: Among all the factors,"cooperative skill"is the most strongly influential factor of CL, and then"cooperative conscious"and"listen attentively"are following. Cooperative skill strongly correlates with self-esteem, listen attentively and cooperative conscious; cooperative conscious strongly correlates with cooperative skill, cooperative task and cooperative time, and listen attentively strongly correlates with cooperative skill, cooperative conscious and speaking ability. The profound analysis can make teachers deeply understand the correlations of all the influential factors of CL. And it will point a clear direction of effective CL in English classroom for teachers and improve the poor efficiency phenomenon absolutely.
