"Liaozhai liqu ji"(the following is called "Liao") is another masterpiece by Pu Songling besides "liao zhai zhi yi", finished in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. It was a talking and singing creation written in the Zichuan dialect, full of regional features and colloquial language colour. The book was rich in content and the stories took place in all kinds of daily communication, basically reflected the actual use of polite language. This paper set "Liao" as the research object, by describing the polite language, get a glimpse of the modern Chinese polite language expression, thereby serving the construction of contemporary Chinese polite language system.The paper mainly includes the following four parts:Chapter one is the introduction, mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the study, the research status of polite language and shortcomings, illustrates the version, expounds the writing ideas and methods, as well as the definition of polite language.The second part is the classification of "Liao"’s polite language. Firstly this section divides "Liao"’s polite language into five categories, that is, address terms, honorifics, etiquette language, euphemism and body language, each category can be divided into different subcategories for specific description, and by comparing "Liao"’s polite language with contemporary Chinese reveals that polite language is keeping the inheritance and development in the process of sublation.The third part summarizes the characteristics of "Liao’"s polite language. On the basis of above analysis, this part sums up four characteristics of "Liao"’s polite language, namely systematic and mature, with a strong feature of era, show a distinct colloquial language colour and the outstanding opera features.The fourth part sums up three revelations that the polite language in the "Liao" to construct the system of contemporary Chinese polite language, that is, to raise awareness of the use of polite language, take an reasonable sublation to polite language and focus contextual features of polite language.
