The Research On The Vocabulary Of Liaozhai Liqu

Researching the developing process of Chinese language is the task of the History of Chinese Language, and the modern Chinese language is the connecting link between the preceding and the following in the history of Chinese language. The research on the vocabulary of modern Chinese language has made extremely fruitful results since the 1980s, which we have seen, at the same time, we should also pore on the study of overall situation of the modern vocabulary. We paid most attention on the explanations of knotty words in the past, and we have found many neologies and their acceptations, which provide us great aid in reading the literatures of the period. This is only the beginning of the vocabulary researching, but not the whole. The integrated research on the lexicon system should also include the research of words commonly used in evolution, formation, dialect, etc. So there will be more field for us to exploit.The subject in this paper belongs to the vocabulary system which studies in dialect. Liaozhai Liqu which was written by Pu Songling who was bom in Zichuan, Shandong province, in Qing dynasty, is selected to be the research object. Basically, this book is written in dialect, which can reflect the basic outlook of dialect in the middle area of Lu, in Qing dynasty, and may be the valuable material to the research in dialect of Shandong, even to the whole history of Chinese language. Facing the vocabulary system of Liaozhai Liqu, we begin the study with the investigation of dialect words, select the words which are reflecting the dialect, and consider them as the representatives of words system in Liaozhai Liqu, to analyze the unique characteristics of words system in Liaozhai Liqu.The whole thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is devoted to the aim and the purpose of the study, besides, a brief introduction to Pu Songling and Liaozhai Liqu; Chapter 2 is the investigation of dialect vocabulary in Liaozhai Liqu, which select the representative dialect words, and analyze the conservation and the distribution in each dialect area; Chapter 3 is the historical research on the dialect words in Liaozhai Liqu, and the comparison between the selected ones and the mandarin words nowadays, in order to highlight their unique features; in the Chapter 4, we will coordinate the colloquial words in Liaozhai Liqu which are ambiguous or disputing, and combined with the author's native dialect, on the basis of the previous research, we will make a philological explanation of their meanings; Chapter 5 is a brief conclusion of this thesis, to review the issues resolved in the thesis.
