Tourism interpretation, a face-to-face, explicit communication with tourists fromdifferent cultural backgrounds, is a kind of cross-language, cross-cultural internationaland interpersonal communication. The quality of the interpretation has an immediateinfluence on the development of tourism.From the perspective of Eugene A. Nida’s functional equivalence theory, this essayaims to explore some strategies and standards of guide interpretation by means ofselecting some representative tourist commentaries in Heilongjiang province andsummarize the linguistic feature of tourism interpretation. The research attempts tocapture the attention of tourism administrative department, the jobholders and teachersand students who major in tourism. Meanwhile, the author of the thesis has givensuggestions as to how to develop the functional equivalence in respects of the targetreceiver’s reflection, which will promote to standardize the translation andinterpretation of scenic spots in Heilongjiang Province and further facilitate thedevelopment of tourism economy.
