In recent years,with the gradual rise of positive psychology,hope has become a hot topic of concern to many researchers.Hope is a characteristics of positive psychological,it plays an important role in alleviating individual pressure,protect the physical and mental health development and promote individual potential and so on.Childhood stage is an important period of sprout and development of hope,the development of hope is not only the existence of individual differences,but also by a variety of factors,especially the impact of parenting style.parenting style plays a key role in the development of young children's physical and mental development.Positive parenting style can promote the development of children's hope,while negative parenting style can hinder the development of children's hope.Taking as research objects preschool children aged 5-8 and their parents,this study introduces a variable--self-esteem,based on the discussion of the influence of parenting style on children's hope,In order to make out the mechanism whereby the parenting style influences children's hope,and aims to explore the effect of self-esteem in the influence of parenting style on children's hope.The researcher of this study adopts “Parents Parenting Style Questionnaire”,“Young Children's Hope Scale”,and “3-9 Year-old Child Self-esteem Teacher Assessment Questionnaire” to conduct a questionnaire survey in Zhengzhou,Kaifeng and Xinyang among 288 children and their parents.SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze the data.The following conclusions were drawn:1.parenting style have some differences in young children's gender,family socioeconomic status,but there are no significant differences in grade.2.The level of hope of young children is generally at a mid-level upper level,in which the agency scored higher than the pathways.There is no significant difference in the sense of hope of children in gender,grade,family socio-economic status.3.Childhood self-esteem is generally at a mid-to-high level.Children's self-esteem has significant differences in grade,family socio-economic status,but there are no significant gender differences.4.The drowning,dictatorship and inconsistency in the dimensions of parenting style were significantly negatively correlated with children's hope and self-esteem,and negatively predicted their sense of hope and self-esteem.However,the democratization in the dimensions of parenting style has a significant positive correlation with children's hope and self-esteem,and has a positive predictive effect on children's hope and self-esteem.Children's self-esteem has a significant positive correlation with their hope,the hope is a significant positive predictive effect.5.Self-esteem plays a partially mediating effect in the impact of parenting on young children.Based on the above findings,this study proposes educational suggestions to promote the development of children's hope from the aspects of parenting style and the development of children's hope.
