This study is about the group counseling on vocational students’ Psychological capital based on the theory of Psychological capital and the group counseling. At first the paper state the meanings,effects, origins and developments of group counseling and the Psychological capital, and then also look back on their development histories at home and abroad. We also introduce the different genres and theoretical perspectives of group counseling and the Psychological capital separately. In the end, we proposed the intervention plan about the promotion on the level of Psychological capital on the basis of the analysis and theoretical exploration above. Though the research, it shows that the group counseling have significant effects on promoting the level of vocational students’Psychological capital.The keystone of this paper is to intervene the experiment group with the group counseling. By analyzing the situation of the level of vocational students’ Psychological capital in our country which were relatively low, This paper picked some vocational students as subjects and want to study and discuss the effects of group counseling on improving the level of vocational students’ Psychological capital trough eight interventions of group counseling, which hope to provide a worthy reference for the vocational educator’s exploring the education methods on promoting the level of the Psychological capital.The students at2nd and3rd of Nanjing project higher vocational school with similar background were chosen to participate in the group counseling by the way of quasi experimental design, they were divided into three groups, the experimental group, the comparison group and the controlled group. Eight group counseling activities were conducted on the experimental group. Eight meeting activities were conducted on the comparison group, while no group counseling activities were done on the controlled group.Then the three groups had tests three times separately:before the experiment, after the group counseling and two months after the group counseling. What’s more, we also collected some qualitative material during and after the experiment. The assessments we used included the PPQ (Positive psychological capital questionnaire), GSES (General Self-Efficacy Scale), OPSC (Optimism-pessimism Scale) RSCA (Chinese Adolescent mental Resilience Scale) and Unit feedback form.The validity is examined according to the analysis on the data and qualitative material. The results show that the experiment group has a remarkable effect on the scales PPQ, GSES, OPSC and RSCA to improve their level of Psychological capital. The comparison group also has a remarkable effect. While the controlled group doesn’t bring significant change except on the PPQ. As well, its effect is durative and lasts for a long time. All these indicated that the group counseling of Psychological capital is effective. It can give the vocational students a correct guidance on their self-cognition, also can help them to build a positive interpersonal relationship and acquire more social supports. It can give them a favor to set their objects according to their own situations, let them know the importance of hard working and the confidence. At last, it can foster their positive attitude on life and enforce the perseverance when they faced with the frustration, as well promote their mental resilience.
