| Since Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence in Chinese version published, there wasan upsurge of Emotional Intelligence in domestic society,in which a typical groupwas college student. In the past two or three decades, domestic researchers havecarried out relevant research about emotional intelligence.From existing researchesfound that the structure and content of emotional intelligence are controversial,indigenous measurement tools to be developed and public opinions on relationshipbetween emotional intelligence and personality are divergent. At present, theacademic procrastination is a common phenomenon in college students; studies havefound that there were close relationship between personality and academicprocrastination. While researches on the relationship between Emotional Intelligencewhich has controversial relationship with personality and academic procrastinationare little, so it is necessary to further explore the relationship among the three. Basedon the above consideration, this study explored in the following two aspects:Study one, revision of Emotional Intelligence Scale. Select266college studentsas the initial test objects, examine the factor structure of the Emotional IntelligenceScale, and revise a good reliability and validity of the localization test questionnaire;Study two, empirical research. Select688college students in seven universities as theresearch objects; comprehensively analyze the overall situation of the three andcompare the differences in demographic variables of emotional intelligence andacademic procrastination of college students.Then this paper also explores therelationship among the emotional intelligence, personality traits and academicprocrastination of college students. Conclusions are as follows:(1)The revised Emotional Intelligence Scale is divided into four dimensions:emotion regulation, emotion self–perception, emotion perception of others andemotion use; whose16test items have higher degree of differentiation, internalconsistency reliability and the ideal idea construct validity.(2) Emotional Intelligence of college students in general is on the middle level,gender, grades, discipline, family atmosphere, family economic status, the average monthly consumption level and father education degree have a significant impact onone or more dimensions of emotional intelligence.(3)The situation of college students in personality in general is ideal, but thereare a few students in the sub-health state.(4) Academic procrastination of college students is overall on or below themedium level. Whether the class committee, grade and family atmosphere havesignificant effect on the degree of academic procrastination; gender, whether the onlychild, grade, growing region, the degree of maternal education, family economicstatus and average monthly consumption levels have a significant impact on thechanging aspirations; family atmosphere has a significant effect on the fear of failure;gender has a significant influence on task tired.(5) Emotional intelligence of college students and its various dimensions havesignificant positive correlation with extroversion, responsibility, agreeableness andopenness; has significant negative correlation with neuroticism.(6) Emotional intelligence of college students and its various dimensions havesignificant negative correlation with academic procrastination; Emotional intelligence,emotional regulation, emotion self-perception and emotional perception of other aresignificantly positively related with changing aspirations; while negatively correlatedwith fear of failure; task tired is only significantly negatively correlated withemotional intelligence and emotional regulation.(7)The degree of college students’ academic procrastination has significantnegative correlation with extroversion, agreeableness, responsibility and openness,while negative correlated with neuroticism; fear of failure negative correlated withextroversion, agreeableness, responsibility and openness, has positive relation withneuroticism; task tired is negatively correlated with agreeableness, conscientiousnessand openness, and positively correlated with neuroticism.(8) Emotional intelligence partially plays an intermediary role in the middle ofaccountability and procrastination; emotional intelligence plays full intermediary rolein accountability and change desire, emotional intelligence acts as a part of theintermediary role in agreeableness, neuroticism and openness and desire change;emotional intelligence plays a partial mediating role between agreeableness and fear of failure; emotional intelligence plays a partial intermediary role in the responsibilityand task tired. |
