The research on the intention to seek professional psychological help research was animportant part of building effective mental health service system. It would let theparents re-recognize psychological counseling and know when to use it. This was auseful exploration for education teaching and the combination of schools and families.The research would let the parents re-recognize school counseling and make betteruse of school resources. It would also enhances the relationship between families andschools and provide a useful mental environment for children’s growth.On the basis of semi-opened questionnaire and interview, referenced previousresearches and documents, the study developed an attitude toward seekingpsychological help scale for pupil’s parents which had good reliability and validity.Based on the investigation and analysis, the study explored the features of attitudetoward seeking school psychological help among pupil’s parents; and on the basis ofprevious research, used the methods of group counseling and advertising, the studyintervened attitude toward seeking school psychological help of pupil’s parents.Main conclusions of the study are as followings:1. The Attitude toward Seeking school Psychological Help Scale for Pupil’s Parentshad24items with4dimensions: evaluation, doubt, problem recognition,behavioral intention. The scale has good reliability and validity and it isapplicable for pupil’s parents.2. Pupil’s parents had a neutral attitude toward seeking school psychological help.Although their evaluation and acceptance to psychological counseling are high, butthey also had some concerns about it.3. Pupil’s parents with different ages, educational levels, seniorities, monthlyincomes, children’s grades and learning initiative had significant difference onattitude toward seeking school psychological help. However parents with differentgenders, occupation, origins didn’t have significant difference on attitude towardseeking school psychological help. 4. Group counseling and advertising lecture could improve the attitude towardseeking school psychological help of pupil’s parents. As time goes on, groupcounseling’s effect on parents’ attitude was better than advertising lecture.
