In recent years, more and more concerns for children?s development problems have been widely aroused by parents. As parents lack effective guidance, scientific child-psychology books have become particularly important as an alternative solution. The report is a new exploration for child-psychology books as there are not many translation studies about them and the translation skills and strategies concerning this kind of text are not yet mature. Taking Parenting Gifted Kids: Tips for Raising Happy and Successful Children as an example, the author analyzes its text characteristics and discusses some specific problems during translating the child psychology book through headlines, attributive clause and preparatory subject “it”. Additionally, the author summarizes the valuable translation strategies and skills in order to provide inspiration for the translation of child-psychology books and other similar types of translation.
