Through the analysis of the process of simultaneous interpretation (SI), the famous scholar in the field of SI, French professor Gile-Daniel developed the Effort Model, in which he determined that SI is in its essence a process of balancing the interpreter’s efforts into each individual link of the task according to its due demand until the whole task is finished. Based on the Effort Model, and with the materials in the simultaneous interpretation practice for the World Tort Law Society, this paper is to prove that the rational application of suitable principle like frequently used syntactic linearity and strategies like anticipation or waiting will be of great help in balancing the limited energy of the interpreter and help him finish the simultaneous interpretation successfully. |
