This paper was divided into five parts.The first part was an introduction,which mainly introduced the purpose and meaning of the study, research scope,research status and research methods.The second part was mainly based on the Chinese characters culture and the second language teaching theory,and put forward the basis of teaching Chinese as a foreign language from the perspective of culture. The font, pronunciation and meaning of Chinese characters contain a lot of cultural factors, only by understanding the ins and outs of Chinese characters, the foreign students can better learning Chinese characters. Meanwhile, let the students know the cultural behind the Chinese characters can enhance their sense of identity of the Chinese culture, which is also consistent with the cultural adaptation model of teaching the Chinese characters.In the third part, we made a statistic about the elementary stage Chinese characters in “chinese syllabus for foreign students in university(long-term learning)”from three aspects of material culture, spiritual culture and system culture,selected and analyzed some representative Chinese characters,through the limited character analysis we can infer the whole part from one spot, and know that Chinese characters not only recorded the Chinese culture, but also the carrier of Chinese culture. From Chinese characters,we can understand the life level, economic level, culture and education situation of the Chinese nation.In the fourth part, we made a brief illustration from the teaching,memorizing and use of Chinese characters from the perspective of culture.The last part was the conclusion, we summarized the main content of the teaching Chinese characters in the cultural perspective, and pointed out the deficiencies of this paper.
