Chinese characters are bottleneck for many foreign learners because of its difficulty to recognize and remember. It also restricts the development of Chinese international education. With the deepening of teaching and research of Chinese characters, various research results constantly emerge in large numbers. More and more scholars start to realize the characteristics and advantages of the Chinese characters. These kinds of ideograms have record not only Chinese, but also the5000-year-development process of Chinese nation. Chinese characters condense a wealth of cultural information in the aspects of the combination between forms and meaning, and the evolution. There are many previous studies and achievements of the cultural information in Chinese characters’form and meaning since ancient times. But the research of typical cultural information in the combination between forms and meaning from the perspective of teaching Chinese characters is very rare. This paper’s study area is the book "The Classification of Syllable, Characters and Words of Chinese International Education (Characters Table)". The analysis around these characters’ meaning can reflect the typical cultural information from the aspect of single characters with the strong constitutive ability. On one hand, characters in this typical cultural information can enrich their cultural knowledge of teachers. On the other hands it can help learners to understand the characters’ combining disciplines and writing disciplines as soon as possible. Turn rote and mechanical memory to meaningful learningThis paper is divided into five parts. The first part is a brief overview of the concept of single character and its status and role in the teaching field. Besides, it also has the concept of cultural Information and its status and role in the teaching field. In the second part, there is a survey of the distribution of single character contains the typical cultural information in the book "The Classification of Syllable, Characters and Words of Chinese International Education (Characters Table)". The third part is based on the results of learning previous studies. The writer gives an analysis of the168single characters which contain the typical cultural information and classified description through their type. In the forth part, the writer gives a simple illustration of how to use the single characters to character education process effectively. It is also a brief overview of several important principles that should be followed in the education process of using this cultural information.
