Research On Teachers' Job Performance Under Psychological Capital Intervention

In modern society,our country pays more and more attention to the education. The level of teachers’ mental health affects the quality of teaching directly.It will also affect the students’ mental health.The purpose of the study is as followed:We used(PCQ-24)and the teachers’ job performance scale to measure the teachers’ psychological capital and job performance to analyse the relationship between them;Based on the study of the relationship between the teachers’ psychological capital and job performance,we want to improve the teachers’ job performance by the way of interventing the teachers; psychological capital;According to the results,we want to give some advices to schools.This study includes two parts.Part 1,we took teachers who work at high schools in Qingdao as reseach object to analyse the relationship between psychological capital and job performance by questionaire survey.We took the Chinese version of psychological capital questionnaire(PCQ-24) translated by Li Chaoping and the teachers’ job performance scale complied by Zhong Yan(2007) as research tools.We collected 232 questionnaires in total.The two scales are good in reliability and validity.We used independent samples t-text and variance analysis to test the demographic variables and psychological capital.Then we used correlation analysis and regression analysis to analyse the relationship of psychological capital and job performance. Part 2,we designed the intervention programs of the psychological capital to intervent the teachers’ psychological capital based on the study of the relationship between teachers’ psychological capital and job performance.We used stategies in the intervention such as clearing self-awareness.,goal-setting,route planning, implement obstacle planning,distinguishing between fact and eikasia,learning proper attributional style,learning the skills of optimism,using resouces to confront risk,strengthening the resilience,success experience,vicarious learning,learning the skills of confidence and so on.We used pre-test and post-test in the experimental design to the experimental-group and control group in the rearch as well as questionnaires. The conclusions are as follows:1.For psychological capital,there are significant differences in age,head teacher,grade and tenure in psychological capital or some dimension of it.For job performance,there are significant differences in gender,age,grade and tenure in job performance or some dimension of it.2.There is significant positive correlation between the psychological capital,hope,optimism,toughness, confidence and job performance, relationship performance,task poformance.3.The psychological capital, confidence, hope,optimism can be predictors of the job performance.The psychological capital, confidence, hope can be predictors of task performance.The psychological capital, toughness can be predictors of relationship performance.4.After the intervention,the overall level of psychological capital including its four dimensions and the overall level of job performance including its two dimensions were significantly different between the experimental group and the control group.The level of the experiment group is higher than the control group.
