On The Translation Of Cultural Philosophy Texts

Cultural philosophy text, according to the text category theory of Peter Newmark, a British translation theorist, is an expressive text. And compared to others of the same category, this text is more serious and enjoys greater authorities. Therefore, its translation should give priority to accuracy, deferring to the original culture and author, and reproduces the original meaning as it is. This thesis is devoted to discussing the strategy selection, terminology translation and the dealing of long difficult sentences in hope that it could inspire and encourage more studies alike and provide some ideas for the translation of such text.
