This study is attempted to test the self-acceptance effect upon social avoidance and distress among female postgraduates and to test the intermediary effect of social support perceiving. The priority is given to quantitative questionnaire for exploring the relations between and among three variables. Three questionnaires, covering "Self-acceptance","Social Support Perceiving" and "Social Avoidance&Distress" are employed. And the stratified-cluster sampling methodology is adopted with totally405female postgraduates from three universities in the city of Nanjing as the subjects. The study comes to the conclusions as follows:(1) The self-acceptance of the female postgraduates remains normal and social-support perceiving keeps in sound condition, while the conditions of social avoidance and distress need to be advanced.(2) Significant difference exits between total scores of self-acceptance and self-acceptance factor in the professional. The score of self-assessment factor sees significant difference in whether they are the only child, comparatively, the score of self-acceptance factor keeps significant difference in family economic level; the score of female-family support factor is significant on whether they are not the only one child and on grades. Significant difference exits between social support perceiving score and family-support factor score in family economic level. No significant difference is tested between social avoidance and distress on demographic variables.(3) The self-acceptance with corresponding factors and social support perceiving with its factors are significantly and positively correlated, while significantly and negatively correlated with social avoidance and distress including corresponding their factors; Social support perceiving including its various factors and social avoidance and distress including their various factors see significantly negative correlation.(4)The self-acceptance has positive prediction upon social support, and negative prediction on social avoidance and distress; outside-the-family-support factors in social support perceiving have negative prediction on social avoidance and distress.(5) outside-the-family-support factors in social support perceiving performs intermediary role between variables of social acceptance, social avoidance and distress as well.
