University Days is critical and changeable period for social self-concept growth. The growth of social self-concept of the undergraduates has an important significance to promote healthy development of future life. The main purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics of the development of undergraduates'social self-concept and investigate the relationship among self-acceptance, perceived social support and social self-concept of undergraduates. The participants, 517 undergraduates, were selected randomly from 4 universities in Henan and Shandong Province. The measurements included Self-Acceptance Questionnaire, Perceived Social Support Scale, and the Social Self-Concept Scale. The collected data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics, T-test, One-way, ANOVA, Pearson's Product-Moment Correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression.The major findings of the study were as follows:1. There was no significant difference on the overall level of social self-concept of the undergraduates, but there were significant demographic differences on some dimensions. Specifically, there was significant gender difference on Social Self-Concept, that is, the development level of girls was better than the boys'. And there was significant grade difference on Family Status, Interpersonal Authority, Group Status, Teachers-Students Relationship, Relationship with Opposite Sex Accompaniers, Sibling Relationships and Role Adjusted Skill, that is, the higher grade was better than the lower one. There was major difference on Group Status, the arts students were better than the sciences'.2. Self-Acceptance was significantly positive correlated with Social Self-Concept.3. Perceived Social Support was significantly positive correlated with Social Self-Concept.4. Perceived Social Support partly mediated the relationship between Self-Acceptance and Social Self-Concept, that is to say, Self-Acceptance influenced Social Self-Concept through Perceived Social Support.According to the results of the research, some suggestions were proposed for the parents, school educational workers, government and the future research.
