Candidates Family Environment, Self-acceptance And Perceived Social Support Relations

Social support has a positive meaning and health-care effect on individual mental health developing.It becomes consensus among researchers of psychology,clinical medicine and psychiatry.Results of investigations revealed that state of mental health about students of exams for the self-taught are not optimistic.We must pay attention to them.Now researches about students of exams for the self-taught are relatively limited,and few empirical studies about family environment and self-acceptance's effect on perceived social support have been reported. Therefore,studying the relationship among the three variables has an important theoretical and practical significance.374 full-time system students of exams for the self-taught completed a self-report survey effectively that assessed their family environment,self-acceptance and perceived social support by FES-CV-Ⅲ,SAQ and PSSS.Main findings are as follows:(1)Family atmosphere of this kind of students is not very harmonious.The whole situation of family environment has no significant differences.Male's conflict,achievement orientation, active-recreational orientation,and control are higher significantly than female's.Female's cohesion and organization are higher significantly than male's.Only child's cohesion, intellectual-cultural orientation,active-recreational orientation,organization and control are higher significantly than non-only child's.Non-only child's conflict is higher significantly than only child's.As a whole,only child's is higher than non-only child's.There are significant region differences in family environment.Rural students' conflict is higher than city ones',and lower than city ones' in other factors.City students' is higher than rural ones'.There are significant subject differences.Completely,family environment of students majoring in education is best of all.(2)Self-acceptance of this kind of students locates in medium level.Female's self-defeat is higher significantly than male's.There are no significant gender differences,but female's is higher than male's.As a whole,female's self-acceptance is higher than male's.Only child and city students' self-acceptance are higher significantly than non-only child and rural ones'.There are significant subject differences.Students majoring in science and engineering are the lowest in total score and self-defeat.In self-affirmation,students majoring in science and engineering are lower than students majoring in literary-history and economic management.Students majoring in education are the highest.(3)Perceived social support of this kind of students is not achieves medium level.There are significant gender,only child,region,subject differences in perceived social support. Female's is higher than male's.Only child and city students' are higher than non-only child and rural ones'.Students majoring in science and engineering are lower than other three subjects.(4)There is significantly correlation between family environment and perceived social support,significantly positive correlation between self-acceptance and perceived social support, and significantly correlation between family environment and self-acceptance:there is significantly negative correlation between conflict and perceived social support.There is significantly positive correlation between total score of family environment,other factors(expect achievement orientation) and perceived social support.There is significantly positive correlation between self-acceptance,self-defeat,self-affirmation and perceived social support.There is significantly positive correlation between the total score of family environment,cohesion, intellectual-cultural orientation,organization,control and self-acceptance.There is significantly positive correlation between active-recreational orientation and total score of self-acceptance, self-affirmation.There is significantly negative correlation between conflict and self-acceptance. There is significantly positive correlation between achievement orientation and self-affirmation.(5)Family environment and self-acceptance can predict their perceived social support obviously,and family environment can predict self-acceptance obviously.(6)Family environment influenced on perceived social support,and self-acceptance had mediating effect between them.(7)Family environment and self-acceptance can affect together perceived social support, family environment can not only affect directly perceived social support,but also do it indirectly via self-acceptance.
